Native tree saplings were procured from government nurseries; few saplings were grown from seeds in Meahlvanam farm and nurtured till they attain 4 ft height and grow strong enough to survive independently. Native trees include medicinal trees, flowering and fruiting trees, etc those on which birds & other animals can feed on the fruits, build their nest & flourish. DonBosco High School, Manakkal, Lalgudi, Eco club students eagerly involved in planting the saplings in areas in Thenkkal village, Lalgudi. The planted saplings were protected with wooden sticks and Iron mesh. Dr.Rajkumar, pediatrist & Mrs. Rajkumar visited the activity site and motivated the students. The tree plantation activity was successfully completed under the guidance of DonBosco High School, Science Teacher Mr. Vinodh.
